Ways of Being in a Digital Age – A Review Conference
10. Oktober 2017 - 11. Oktober 2017
This conference will close the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) review of “Ways of being in a digital age”. The project was commissioned by the ESRC to help prioritise future areas and identify methods for research on the social, economic, political, psychological and cultural impacts of digital media and technologies.
The project has undertaken a Delphi review of experts, a survey of literature and a range of workshops with both academics and stakeholders. The final report will be published over the summer of 2017.
Led by Professor Simeon Yates, Director of the Centre for Digital Humanities and Social Science at the University of Liverpool, the project team consists of a core team of academics from eight UK universities; and a broader international steering group that represents 18 universities and organisations from across the UK, France, the USA and Singapore, as well as three “generations” of international research experience in the area of digital media and society.
To close the project, we are holding an academic conference to present, extend and deepen the work of the project team. We are calling for review papers on topics that address any aspect of the seven project domains:
- Citizenship and politics
- Communities and identities
- Communication and relationships
- Health and wellbeing
- Economy and sustainability
- Data and representation
- Governance and security
Conference programme: to be published August 25th
